why is the conversion happening?

At Niagara Regional FCU, we do our best to offer the lowest rates and best rewards for all of our products. This conversion allows our members to be involved in choosing a card that works best for their financial goals!

when is the conversion happening?

The new card you will receive in the mail will be able to be activated on Monday, February 28th. Your old card will be turned off on this date and will no longer be available for use.

When will i receive my new card?

New VISA cards will begin to be mailed out on Monday, February 14th. Expect to receive your new card within a few weeks.

how do i activate my new card?

On or after February 28th, you will activate your new card by calling the phone number on the back and following the prompts.

should i dispose of my old credit card?

Once you receive your new card and have activated it on February 28th, you must securely dispose of your old card. We encourage our members to bring their old cards to the credit union, where we can securely dispose of your card for you.

How do i choose my new visa program?

You will receive a letter from Niagara Regional FCU separate from your new card. Read through your options and fill out the form included. You can either mail your completed form to the credit union or drop it off at either location.

Will my annual percentage rate change?

You will have the choice to switch your new card to one of our three new VISA programs: Platinum, Rewards, or Credit-Builder, all with new variable rates. OR, you may opt to have your card remain at its previous fixed rate.

Will my credit card number change?

The new credit card you receive in the mail will have a different number. Make sure you update your scheduled payments and subscriptions with your new number.

Will joinT account members receive their own card?

Yes, joint account members will receive their own card. However, they will receive a card with a different number than the primary cardholder’s. Guarantors of accounts will not receive their own card.

Will i still manage my credit card through ezcardinfo?

No, we will be switching to a new credit card management program called eCS. You will be able to register and login on or after February 28, 2022 via our Visa Credit Cards page.

Will I still be able to view my statements?

In eCS, you will be able to view the previous three months before the conversion. If you are in need of more information, contact the credit union.

do joint account owners have to each register their new cards for ecs accounts?

Yes. If you and a spouse, for example, both receive new credit cards in the mail, they will both have different numbers, even if the account is joint. You will need to individually register your new cards with eCS by making unique usernames and passwords to access the account.

Will my payment due date change?

No, your credit card payment due date will remain the 10th of every month.

What if my joint account member wants a different visa program than myself?

If you and your joint account member want different VISA programs for your new cards, they will have to re-apply for their own credit card.

What if I don’t want a new credit card?

All physical credit cards must be updated with this new conversion. However, you may opt-out of our new rates and programs, in which case your new physical card will remain at its previous fixed rate. In order to opt-out, you must fill out the form provided to notify us.

can I still manage my card with the securelock equip app?

As of February 28, 2022, both NRFCU debit and credit cards will be managed through the convenient, easy CardValet app.
