International Credit Union Day - Niagara Regional Federal Credit Union
On October 17, 2019, Niagara Regional FCU will join with 56,000 credit unions around the world in celebration of International Credit Union (ICU) Day®. Not only is it ICU Day®, but it’s also the one year anniversary of Niagara Regional Federal Credit Union’s Amherst branch.
Niagara Regional Federal Credit Union will be celebrating the entire week! In additional to cider and doughnuts available for those who stop by our main office in North Tonawanda or branch location in Amherst, we will be hosting a special food truck event featuring a different vendor each day from 11:30am -1:30pm October 15th through October 18th at our branch location, 665 North French Road, Amherst.
Anyone who opens a new account with Niagara Regional Federal Credit Union from now until October 18th will receive a $5.00 food voucher to use at any of the food trucks during our celebration week.
There are 200+ million credit union members around the world (more than 100 million in the U.S. alone) and Niagara Regional Federal Credit Union joins them in celebration of the not-for-profit cooperative spirit all credit unions share.
This cooperative spirit has led to life-changing opportunities for people all over the world who’ve wanted to start a small business, own a home or continue their education but were denied access to other financial institutions. In many parts of the world, people’s first taste of democracy is through their credit union, where “one member, one vote” is the governing structure.
At its most basic level, a credit union is people pooling their money to provide each other with affordable loans—it is literally people helping people. This is why Niagara Regional Federal Credit Union celebrates ICU Day…because credit unions empower people, wherever they are in the world or life, to take control of their financial future.
The public is welcome to stop by and celebrate with us!
